550 hectares of hiking area
Miles of hiking trails can be found in the green forests, among the colourful plants of the Arboretum or in the historical setting of the Open Air Museum. Bokrijk has several walking routes ranging from 1.5 km to 9.5 km. Many Limburg walking routes pass through Bokrijk, so you can also explore the park in combination with other nature reserves in the province. For example, there is a route that takes you through the beautiful meadows of Kiewit to Bokrijk. Magnificent views are guaranteed!
Fancy a brisk walk? Bokrijk is also part of the Wijers long-distance walk. This 76-km walk leads you past beautiful ponds and reed beds through Limburg's most valuable water landscape. Or choose one of the three day hikes of about 20 km and discover a part of De Wijers each time.
Plot your walking route using the interactive map at www.wandeleninlimburg.be. Want to buy a walking map? You can do so at the Infocenter.
At the Arboretum
Stroll among the Arboretum's colourful plantings that look that little bit different every season of the year. A 1.7 km walking loop takes you past the most beautiful spots.
Cycling or walking through Water
You can also experience cycling through the water while walking. A signposted route of 4.5 km on paved paths takes you along one of the most beautiful spots in Flanders.
At the Open-Air Museum
Some days during the winter period, the Open-Air Museum opens its doors for a walk in the unique setting of the museum's historic buildings. When the museum is open as a free walking park, you will discover in the calendar.
