In 2017, Bokrijk launched a major restoration campaign at the Open-Air Museum. 124 buildings and monuments are sustainably restored in 2025.
Every effort is being made on site to ensure that visitors can follow the progress of the work with their own eyes. Therefore, the ongoing restoration projects will be relatively uncrowded. You will also find information on the history of the houses, their typical features, the planned work, and construction techniques. Practical demonstrations of roof restoration and half-timbering techniques, such as clay and vitsen, will be held on site, depending on available space and possibilities.
