Bokrijk is a unique place, ideally situated in the heart of Limburg’s cycling paradise, nestled between Hasselt and Genk. With our own station just 5 minutes’ walk away, the park is easily accessible by train too.

The cycle route network makes it easy for you to access the park by bike. Junctions 71, 91 & 92 are located in & around the park.  The best way to reach Bokrijk is via the magnificent ‘Cycling Through Water’. There are bike parking facilities in Car Parks 1 and 2. These include e-bike charging stations.

Bokrijk has a railway station and it is only a 5-minute walk from the park. If you’re visiting the Open-Air Museum with your family, the Discovery ticket might be of interest to you. With the NMBS Discovery (B daytrip) ticket you get 50% discount on your return train ticket when you purchase an online ticket for the Open-Air Museum.

How does it work? Buy your admission ticket to the Open-Air Museum. You will find a code at the bottom of your online ticket. Visit the NMBS website, buy your ticket and enter your discount code.  You will enjoy a one-off discount on your train ticket for each admission ticket purchased. Children under 12 years of age travel free of charge.

Bokrijk is also accessible by bus (De Lijn). From Genk, take bus route 3, and disembark at the roundabout at Car Park 1 or Car Park 2. From Hasselt, take bus route 12. Disembark at the stop on Hasseltweg, after which it’s about 10 minutes’ walk to the park.

Reserve your ticket

Reserving tickets isn’t a must, although it does work out cheaper and is practical besides. You can reserve your ticket right up to the day of your visit itself.
